FEBRUARY 2014 MONTHLY

Published March 1, 2014 by heelsandbags

It’s been a while since my last post… I know. Life has been very hectic, plus my family suffered a major loss when my mother-in-law died from cancer at the beginning of this month. We weren’t prepared at all because we didn’t know she had cancer until 2 weeks before her death.
As I said. Life=hectic.

Enough depressing news though, let’s get straight into it !

As the weather begins to cool down in Oz, we are seeing the latest boots from Tony Bianco, and I must say, I am loving some, but some are ‘meh’.

The grunge look is here for Autumn so get your feet into some cool black boots with a chunky mid heel. The bonus with this trend is comfort !
The grungy boots on TB would have to be the ultimate blend of comfort & style, plus they’re perfect for rainy days because nothing gets through them and they’re easy to wipe down.
Team them up with your favourite jeans or mini + leggings & you’re set !

Oroton has launched a gorgeous new collection & I’m especially loving the new 1938 barrel bags. The gold or silver cutout ones are my ‘it’ bag for this season.
They’re just so versatile ! You can match them with your jewellery, dress them up or down and they’ll fit everything you need.
It’s no secret that the classic 1938 barrel bags are my favourite !

MAC is launching some great new collections too.
Recently, I got a lipstick & a mineralize blush from their new ‘Fantasy of Flowers’ collection.
The lipstick I got, which is called ‘Dreaming Dahlia’ is a lovely corally orangey red colour. It’s in a lustre finish and is quite sheer, so it looks awesome on, but the winner of the collection is definitely the blush.

The one I got, called ‘Petal Power’, is my ultimate blush & I’m so glad I found it. It is a beautiful shade of rosy pink with a hint of corally bronze and it has a golden sheen to it.
After years of always buying Skinfinishes & using them as blushes, I’m so happy that I’ve finally found my perfect shade.
It’s definitely the one to try. The colour is so lovely and would suit pretty much all skin tones. And what I love most ?
You can’t stuff up with it. It’s a bit on the sheer side and it’s buildable.

When it comes to fashion, I’m not going to get into it too deep because you all know my style.
Classic, stylish & versatile. Trends come & go so quickly so instead of spending all your money on buying everything of that trend, just buy a couple of items. Invest your money on key classic staples like the ultimate pair of sexy jeans or a good expensive coat. Then just add your trendy item like that neon blouse, to your outfit and you’re set !

So all in all, Autumn/Winter is setting in !
Choose your boots & your arm candy, get your warpaint on and dive straight in !

Tony Bianco ‘Reeves’ Heels Review

This hot pair of heels is called Reeves, by Tony Bianco.
Pictured above in Black Monaco, they’re also available in 4 other colours.
There’s Black Chicago, Sand Chicago, Natural Chicago & Fudge Chicago.
Chicago leather has a soft, raw matte finish to it, as opposed to the Monaco leather, which is more of a semi shiny standard leather.
All the other colours are pictured below.

Now, there are a lot of funky new styles coming out this Spring/Summer, and some of them look a bit weird to me.
When I buy heels, I like to get a pair that are not only in fashion for that year, but will also pass for the next couple of years too.

Reeves is that sort of shoe.
Though it’s very on trend, it’s also a style that it somewhat timeless. It’s a style that won’t really ever go out of fashion.

Reeves features a 14.5cm high block heel and a cut-out style.
It’s got a front platform which looks to be about 4cms high, and that’ll take a lot of pressure off the foot.

It’s not too strappy, but has enough leather there to hold the foot in securely.

These are the next heels that I’ll be buying, and my pick are the Black Chicago. I’m just a bit more partial to the more matte finish of the leather.

Reeves retails for $189.95 on the TB website, and you’ll get free shipping with that too.
And don’t forget, being part of their loyalty program means you’ll get a little discount which always helps !

You can also find these heels at Styletread & The Iconic, and possibly instore at Wanted Shoes, the price will be the same though.
They’re not on eBay yet though, so no cheapies just yet !

Tony Bianco ‘Asara’ Heels Review

This is Asara by Tony Bianco, one of their latest designs for 2013.
Pictured above in Black Capretto, Asara is also available in Sand Capretto which is pictured below.

Asara is a simple yet stunning strappy high heel which features one strap across the toes, and then an ankle strap which has a gold chain detail.

Entry is super easy via the zip at the back.
The heel is 12cms high which is in my opinion, high enough for a strappy pair of heels like these.
You really wouldn’t want to go any higher considering there is no front platform or anything, and there really isn’t much shoe there.

12cms is comfortable enough to last you about 4 hours with no pain but after that, prepare for some blistering.

I personally adore the black version. You always see black teamed up with silver, so I like how this is something different.

Asara retails for $179.95, which is fair.
Get your pair from the Tony Bianco website. If you spend over $80, you get free postage.
Plus if you’re a member of Tony Bianco’s loyalty program, you’ll receive further discounts plus points.

Tony Bianco ‘Beauty’ Heels Review

Published April 6, 2013 by heelsandbags

20130406-111538.jpg

This is Beauty by Tony Bianco, one of the latest releases for this Autumn/Winter collection.

Pictured above in Black Kid Suede, Beauty also comes in Black Capretto, Skin Capretto and Coyote Kid Suede, which are all pictured below.

I discovered Beauty about 15 minutes ago, and I must say, I am instantly in love. It’s name really does say it all !

So, lets get straight into it !
Beauty is a platform stiletto with a peeptoe at the front. It features a cut-out front and has 2 thin straps which cross over the front of the foot and join around the ankle to a small pocket back. There is a small adjustable buckle on the outside.

The heel is 15.5cms high, which is my favourite height. It’s pretty high, but that front platform makes it alot easier.
I don’t know if you’d be comfortable enough to wear these for an entire day, but I’d say you’d be good for about 6 hours.
Probably be an idea to break them in a bit at home before braving a whole day out in them.

The heel on these suede ones is black patent leather. Nude patent leather on the Coyote Kid Suede.
The Capretto leather ones are the same leather all round.
Capretto is a smooth matte leather.

Beauty retails for $189.95 which I think is pretty good for a sexy pair of heel like these.
You’ll get them cheaper if you are a member of Tony Bianco’s loyalty program and they always ship for free too !

My personal pick is the Black Kid Suede, as they’d be the ultimate pair of Winter stilettos. They’ll be nice and soft and match everything !

Tony Bianco ‘Lolita’ Heels Review

Published April 4, 2013 by heelsandbags

20130404-180102.jpg

20130404-180114.jpg

With the latest trend being all black & silver, Lolita by Tony Bianco looks to be the perfect fit.

Above is Lolita in Black Kid Suede, but Lolita is actually available in a total of 7 different colourways, some of which are pictured below.
We have:
Carmine Kid Suede, which is a burnt orange colour,
Black Capretto, which is a smooth semi-matte leather,
Coyote Kid Suede, which a lovely neutral beige colour,
Midnight Kid Suede, which is a very dark blue/almost black,
Pine Kid Suede, a forest green,
and Vanilla Capretto which is a lighter beige colour in a smooth semi-matte leather.
And if course we have the Black Kid Suede at the top there.

So what’s so special about Lolita ?
The feature of these shoes is the curved silver cigarette heel. It’s metallic, elegant and so on trend.

Now this heel, though yes, it looks hot, but it’s 12.5cms high, and it is thin, so be cautious. Not only is it a tad high for a pair of shoes with no front platform, but with the heel being so thin, it’s going to put pressure on the front part of your foot, so I don’t think that these will be very comfy for all day wear.
I’d say 3-4 hours tops if you’re looking at the comfort level.

I know that everyone is getting used to sky high heel heights, but lets not forget that these don’t have a platform, and they are pointy toe plus that steel heel is so thin so 12.5cms is really quite high for shoes like this.

Also, that heel isn’t the stablest either. Be careful when walking on the footpath, it’ll slip into cracks easily.

Now, I’m not saying that these shoes aren’t worth it, oh they are, all I’m saying is, be careful when you’re walking in them, that’s all. And don’t expect to be comfortable all day long in them because you won’t be.
But if you’re going out to dinner or something, wearing a gorgeous little dress, Lolita is perfect.

They’re sexy shoes, that’s for sure.

So what are you going to pay for these ?
$179.95 at Tony Bianco, and all other stockists, including The Iconic, Styletread and Wanted Shoes.
Lolita only just came out, so they won’t be on eBay yet.
You’ll get them cheaper if you’re part of Tony Bianco’s loyalty program and they always ship for free so that helps.

My favourite colour ?
I’d buy the Black Kid Suede. Perfect for cold days and the suede will be softer than the Capretto leather.

Tony Bianco ‘Frenchy’ Boots Review

Published April 4, 2013 by heelsandbags

20130403-195546.jpg

This is one of Tony Bianco’s latest styles for Autumn/Winter 2013.
It is called Frenchy, and it is available in 2 colours.
Pictured above is the Black Jetta which is available for purchase now from the Tony Bianco website.
Also available is the colour Midnight Cow Suede, which is currently up for Pre-Order only.

Frenchy is a leather ankle boot with an open centre and inside tongue, with 4 adjustable buckle up straps. The straps are a gorgeous silver metal and go across the front of the boot and buckle up on the outer side.

The heel height is 6cm, which is superbly comfortable and make these the perfect rock chic biker boots to not only team with jeans or leggings, but also with a cute miniskirt or dress, to add a bit of edge to your look.

Frenchy is retailing for $219.95 on the Tony Bianco website which is decent for a pair of new season leather boots, especially with all that hardware.

If you become a member of their loyalty program, you’ll get them a bit cheaper, plus they always offer free shipping.

You may also find Frenchy at Wanted Shoes, The Iconic or Styletread.
It’s too soon for it to be on eBay though.

If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, check out BooHoo. They have very similar styles at a fraction of the price. You can grab a pair for about $70 or so, depending on which style you choose. It won’t be real leather, but if you don’t mind, then the quality isn’t bad. Of course, you can’t compare them to $220 Tony Bianco’s, but if you’re after a cheaper pair that look very similar, then it’ll do the trick.
Visit BooHoo here.

Tony Bianco ‘Julia’ Heels Review

Published March 28, 2013 by heelsandbags

20130328-175025.jpg

20130328-175148.jpg

Julia is like the ultimate office shoe this season.
It offers beautiful styling, a comfortable height and elegant versatility.
It’s the perfect shoe to take from day to night.

Julia is available in 3 different colour combos. Above is the Coyote Kid Suede/Gold.
Also available is Black Kid Suede/Black and Black Kid Suede/Gold.
I personally love the Coyote Kid Suede colour, with the black/gold coming in at second.
I love the sculpted gold heel on the shoes, it gives such a nice touch to an otherwise simple pair of shoes. Like a piece of art !

The heel height is 12cms, which is perfect for all-day wear, so if you’ve got them on at work, just switch your blouse, change your earrings, and you’re off !

The front is a rounded closed toe, so your toes won’t be suffering one bit.

Wear them with any outfit, but team them with gold jewellery, careful not to overdo it though.

Julia retails for $189.95, which I think is a smidge high considering the only thing hiking up the price is that gold heel, other than, they’re pretty plain.
But I guess that’s the price you have to pay if you want them !

To ease the blow, become a member of Tony Bianco’s loyalty program and that’ll save you some money, plus they always offer free postage too.

You can also find these at The Iconic, Wanted Shoes and Styletread.

Tony Bianco ‘Twain’ Heels Review

Published March 28, 2013 by heelsandbags

20130328-112914.jpg

I really like Twain by Tony Bianco.
They’re a nice blend of modern metallics and elegant pointy toe pumps.

Pictured above is the Silver Shine colour, with Nero Satin.
Twain is also available in Patent Black, Gunmetal Shine and Coyote Kid Suede, which are all pictures below.

The heel height on these is 11cms, which is perfect for a pair of pointy toe pumps. Great for wearing all day long, and these are great for work or play.

The satin collar adds a bit of a unique flair to these heels, and makes stand out from other similar pairs.

Shine leather is a smooth and soft leather which is very comfortable to wear.

Twain is currently retailing for $149.95, and I think that is a fabulous price for such a pretty pair of pumps.
What I love most about these heels is that you can wear them with just about anything, whether its conservative or on trend.

My favourite colour ? The gunmetal shine. I’m thinking a punk rock chic look, teamed with skinny jeans, studs and hot pink lipstick, with a cool top and funky jewellery !

I’m quite sure The Iconic and Styletread will stock Twain too, and Wanted Shoes aswell.

All of the above stores offer free shipping except for Wanted.
Buy them from Tony Bianco and if you’re a member of their loyalty program, you’ll get a discount too !
